ORLANDO– The Entwined Collection, the latest collaboration between Pallas® Textiles and designer Laura Guido Clark, contributes to the quality of healthcare environments by creating an air of comfort and solace for those who need it most: patients and family members. Its simple lines form intricate patterns, delicate shapes, playing on light and shadow. Entwined is displayed in Pallas’ booth, space #1218, at Healthcare Design 2009.
“Entwined was designed to encourage patients, family and staff to relax amidst an often stressful environment and be reminded of life’s simple pleasures,” said Guido Clark. “Entwined helps provide that vital sense of connection with qualities that emulate authentic handcrafts such as sewing, knitting, and embroidery—connecting patients, family and staff to a simpler time.”
Entwined is a specially designed, fully functional textile solution that easily adapts to the demands of healthcare environments. This unique collection is comprised of four patterns (Running Stitch, On the Fringe, Interlaced and Unraveled) and one solid (Unspun). Unspun, Running Stitch, On the Fringe and Unraveled all have stringent antimicrobial properties to meet today’s healthcare specifications. What’s more, Unspun, Running Stitch, Unraveled and Interlace are all 10:1 water:bleach cleanable—the industry standard established by the CDC for infection Control.
Through its warm and welcoming patterns, Entwined serves as an ideal solution for patient rooms, family lounges, waiting rooms and lobby areas. With comforting designs, unparalleled soil and moisture resistance, and the inclusion of anti-microbial agents, Entwined is one of the most functional and durable textiles for healthcare environments.
“The unique design qualities of Entwined—combined with its durability to withstand the intense demands of healthcare environments—make it the perfect solution for any healthcare facility looking to create a warm, welcoming and healing sanctuary for years to come,” said David White, vice president and general manager, Pallas Textiles. “Adding to its tranquil design are patterns that imitate those found in nature, including leafy trellises, delicate webs and anemones.”
Each pattern can withstand the intensity of demanding healthcare environments. Its three Crypton fabrics (Running Stitch, On the Fringe and Unspun) are able to withstand some of the toughest durability tests in the industry. Running Stitch supports 80,000 double-rubs, while On the Fringe and Unspun both support 100,000 double-rubs. Cryptons feature a specially engineered fabric system with an integrated moisture barrier that allows it to withstand any spills, stains or surprises.
In addition to durability, Entwined includes environmentally friendly properties. The collection is comprised of recyclable nylon and conforms to sound environmental manufacturing processes.
